Why is Zen so often misunderstood?
Because it points directly to the mind-heart—beyond words, beyond concepts. And yet, so much of what we know about Zen today comes through words—translations of ancient stories, koans, and teachings that can easily lose their meaning when taken out of context.
That’s why I’ve launched a new Zen History Blog. It’s my attempt to trace Zen’s roots more clearly, using classical texts, original language sources, and the living insight I received through 16 years of training under a direct lineage of Zen Masters. My goal is to bring the original intent of these teachings to light—for contemporary readers, seekers, and practitioners alike.
The first entry is now live, and many more are on the way. I’ll be exploring key figures like Bodhidharma, the origins of Zen in India and China, and how the direct transmission of mind continues across centuries.
